Dr. Nikolaos Bilios

My current position is Chief Corporate Affairs & Communications Officer at the Macedonian Thrace Brewery S.A. responsible for the Media & Communications Strategy of the company. My portfolio also involves handling national and international press (digital & traditional media) and public affairs activities.
Before that, I had the role of Senior Policy & Communications Advisor at the Ministry of Tourism under the Secretary General for Tourism Policy and Development. At the Ministry my responsibility was to implement and foresee the strategic plan for key investment proposals, to provide guidance and research on potential investments, as well as to analyze the current market ecosystem and make recommendations about financial planning and policy.
During my tenure in Greece’s public administration, I focused on issues related to open government reform, communications, transparency, urban regeneration and youth entrepreneurship.
Moreover, as the Director General at the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), I was responsible for the tourism policy and marketing strategy of the GNTO, planning, organizing and implementing global campaigns with Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, also worked with media corporations like BBC, New York Times, Al Jazeera.
I teach hospitality management, business strategy, digital marketing and new media in International Institutions, Universities & Colleges, as well as been Fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the USA (www.gmfus.org).
Education : BSc (Hons) Social Sciences and Political Sciences graduate, from Royal Holloway & Kings College, University of London. Diploma in Sociology, MSc New Media, MSc Political Sociology, and MPhil/PhD Government from the London School of Economics (LSE) and is a Marshall Memorial Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the USA (www.gmfus.org).
